4. If you have a fever from salmonella and/or typhoid if your feveris high enough they will put you in a bath of ice. You do not wantthe bath of ice.
5. Scorpions bites hurt. If stung it is less painful if you put ice on the bite, than if you don't. Drooling is socially acceptable under the circumstances.
6. Shots in Mexico are always given in the butt.
7. No land is unowned. Even if you are dry caving in Belize, check to see if someone owns the land and ask for permission.
8. In the tropics army ants march in big swaths. They will bite, inmass, you if you are in their path. If you are not in their path, nomatter where they are, let them march through and they will clean outall the bugs in your place. they are like little exterminators.
9. Boas eat small birds, even if they are in a suspended cage.
10. Temple 4 in Tikal is the best for sunrises.
11. Mexico is safer than most US metropolitan areas, no matter what you hear in the US media.
12. If you vomit under water while scuba diving it does not always guarantee you see more fish.
13. A fer de lance snake, or quarto naris "four nose" is a called a Tommy Golf in Belize.
14. Belikin is the only beer in Belize.
15. Gallo is the Corona beer of Guatemala.
16. Mash is a citrus concentrate you can mix with water like "Minute Maid".
17. You can still buy valium in Ambergris Caye at the pharmacy.
18. Palenque is probably one of the best ruins sites you can see.
19. Being naked or topless is really by law not allowed in Mexico.
20. Cave diving requires special diving certification.
21. The Maya are not all dead.
